Des Moines Police say the body of an adult male was discovered near the Des Moines River Wednesday afternoon.
Around 4:00 p.m., a passerby walking spotted the body near Court Avenue by the riverwalk, and pointed it out to a construction worker. The worker then called 911.
The death is under investigation. The cause of death won’t be available until an autopsy is conducted, which could take several days.
