Two days after voting to back a plan to build a casino in Ankeny, an Ankeny city council member is changing his mind.

On Monday the Ankeny city council voted four-to-one to look into helping Wild Rose Entertainment acquire a gaming license to build a casino in Ankeny.

After voting yes on Monday, Councilman Mark Holm told the Des Moines Register Wednesday he is changing his position after hearing from residents.

Ankeny’s mayor is also speaking out against the plan.
