IOWA RESULTS: Barack Obama Wins Iowa, Election

President Barack Obama will return to the White House for a second term. 

The President won key states including Iowa on his path to reelection. 

NBC announced just after 10:15 Election Night that President Barack Obama won the vote in the state of Iowa over Governor Mitt Romney in the 2012 election, and shortly after projected the election in favor of Obama.

Obama won the state of Iowa, giving 6 key electoral votes to the President. 

The President spent his final campaign night in Des Moines speaking to a crowd of over 20,000 in the East Village, even shedding a tear as he made the closing arguments for his campaign.

Iowa has voted Democrat in 6 of the last 7 elections.
