A year ago Ames voters approved an $18 million bond issue for the library renewal project.

That means major renovations will be done to the building on Douglas Avenue they now occupy. The library will now re-locate to the former Hastings Store at 620 Lincolnway in the Lincoln Center while those renovations are being completed.

The library will hopefully reopen in its temporary location by December the 10th.

Once all the construction is done, the library will reopen in its Douglas Avenue location in 2014.
