INTERSTATE CRASH: Barrier Saves The Day

Authorities say two drivers walked away from a crash, thanks to the cable barriers in the median.

The crash happened near the Jordan Creek Parkway exit on eastbound I-80 shortly before 9 P.M. Wednesday.

Both cars ended up in the median, but neither driver was injured.

First responders say that’s because the cable barriers did their job, and kept the vehicles from crossing into oncoming traffic. If the barriers hadn’t been there, the crash could have been much worse.

Two of the eastbound lanes were closed for some time to clear the damaged vehicles from the road.
