Three small business owners hope a new marketing campaign will drive more shoppers to Ankeny this holiday season.

A small crowd waited to see a new billboard go up Monday morning on East First Street. It features three small businesses.

The owners of The Funky Zebras, Barefoot Chic Boutique, and Treasure House went in on the advertising contract together with the same goal in mind.

“We’re all small business, so anybody who’s been in small business knows that marketing budgets are tight and when we come together we just get to do bigger grander things,” says Traci Houghton, owner of Barefoot Chic Boutique.

The business owners signed a three-month contract.  They will have new billboards at different locations in town in December and January.
