Police say they arrested an intoxicated Des Moines man after he left a trail of damage.

Police say six witnesses saw Royce Copic barreling through the north side of Des Moines.

Over the noon hour police say Copic got behind the wheel drunk. During his trip, he hit three vehicles, two trees, a power pole and a fire hydrant before smashing into a garage in the 3900 block of East 8th Street.

He’s now facing charges of OWI, hit and run, and no insurance.
