Flu season is starting to pick up nationwide and Iowa is seeing the worst of it.

The flu activity report for the start of December shows Iowa is dealing with a regional outbreak. That means the flu has been reported in multiple parts of the state. 

Other Midwest states are only seeing localized outbreaks.

The flu typically peaks in Iowa in February.
