TODDLER MURDER: Mother’s Boyfriend Charged

A Dubuque man has been charged with murder in the death of his girlfriend’s two-year-old son.

Thirty-four-year-old Nicholas Reed was originally charged with neglect or abandonment of a dependent person, but is now facing a first degree murder charge as well for the death of Bentley Randall.

Bentley was taken to the hospital with head trauma and submersion burns, after he had been in the care of Reed. He was airlifted to University of Iowa Hospitals where he died on November 25th.

Reed also faces felony drug charges after marijuana and methamphetamine were found in his home.
