Next week an Iowa soldier will posthumously receive the medals he earned in the Vietnam War.

Vern Sullivan of Sioux City was drafted into the army and served in Vietnam from September of 1966 to September of 1968.

He died unexpectedly earlier this year.

The eight medals he earned but never received will be given to his family during a special ceremony in Sioux City on Monday.
