A Des Moines man has been sentenced to federal prison for robbing an Iowa bank.

Thirty-eight-year-old Ryan Randles pleaded guilty to an indictment charging him with bank robbery and assault during the commission of the robbery. He was sentenced Thursday to more than nine years in prison.

As part of Randles’ plea agreement, he admitted to robbing the Keokuk County State Bank on October 20, 2010. He got away from the bank with about $5,676.

In addition to the prison sentence, Randles must serve a five-year term of supervised release after his sentence is completed.
