A Mason City man will spend life in prison for sexually abusing two boys.

Thirty-one-year-old Michael Goodale was sentenced Thursday in federal court. He was sentenced on convictions for aggravated sexual abuse, interstate transportation of minors for the purpose of engaging in criminal sexual activity, and accessing child pornography.

Prosecutors provided evidence at his trial that showed he performed sex acts on two boys aged 9-13 between 2008 and September of 2011. The acts happened in Iowa and Minnesota. Evidence also showed Goodale had watched child pornography on his laptop in 2011.

The federal prison system does not offer parole.
