ARSON ARREST: Homeless Man Charged

A homeless man is charged with starting a house fire that forced a mother and son to flee.

Burlington police say firefighters were called to a home in the 1800 block of Madison Avenue around 11:00 p.m. Tuesday night. When they arrived flames were coming out of the back of the house.

A woman and her son were able to escape the fire without injury. One firefighter was injured while battle the blaze. He was treated and released from a local hospital.

Fifteen-thousand dollars in damage was done to the home.

Forty-five-year-old David Good is charged with one count of first degree arson in the case. He is being held in the Des Moines County Jail on a bond of $25,000.
