HOLIDAY ADVICE: Keeping Your House Safe

Many people this Christmas will be visiting family and friends. If you are leaving town, by whatever means, the Polk County sheriff’s office want you to keep your house safe while you’re gone.

They have offered these tips:

  • Make sure you lock your doors and leave some lights on.
  • Suspend mail and newspaper delivery.
  • Schedule someone to remove snow before leaving town.
  • Ask a trusted family member or friend to check on your house regularly.
