The holidays are over, but Valley West Mall is just as busy.

“After the holidays, there are a lot of discounts going on, a lot of people taking advantage of the sales,” says Valley West Mall General Manager Paul Stender.

For some the break in the weather was the first chance they had to get their holiday gifts bought. The Longs were snowed in Fontanelle until Wednesday morning.

“If you live in the country, you couldn't get out, in town it wasn't that bad, but out in the country where the wind was blowing everywhere you could not go anywhere,” says Jerid Long of Fontanelle.

However, many people at the mall were there to return holiday gifts.

“We're just getting some returns done, and hopefully trying to get some good deals with the after Christmas deals,” says Brittany Swanson of Madrid.

Valley West Mall says it prepares just as much for the holiday rush as it does for the after holiday crowds. However, being a prepared shopper will also help you save time.

“As long as you have your receipt it's a piece of cake, you can get cash back sometimes, get a store credit,” says Swanson.

Most of the stores are also calling in extra employees to help answer any questions and get all your returns and exchanges taken care of.

“We will be busy, so be patient and give yourself extra time to get through the lines,” says Stender.

Valley West Mall says they expect to be busy through mid-January with people returning holiday gifts,  and taking advantage of the after holiday sales many stores will be offering.
