If you’re eager to take your holiday decorations down and get on with the New Year, you’ll have to wait a little longer.
Curbside Christmas tree pick up begin on Monday, December 31.

Trees should not be placed in bags, but do need a compost-it sticker. Metro Waste Authority will be picking up trees on your regularly scheduled recycling day through January 11, except for Ankeny where trees will be collected the week of January 14.

Stickers can be purchased at most grocery stores.
All decorations must be removed if you want the tree picked up.

They will not be accepting wreaths.

Some exceptions to the sticker requirement include Urbandale, Ankeny, Prairie City, Mitchellville, and Runnells. Stickers are not required in these communities; call the respective City Hall with questions
