The man shot at least six times in earlier December has died.
Police are now investigating the shooting as a homicide. According to reports 31-year-old Rashad Adair was shot while sitting in a vehicle in the 1400 block of Washington Avenue on December 6.
Adair passed away on Christmas day.
Police have interviewed two witnesses, but they have not made an arrest in the investigation.
This is the 9th homicide in Des Moines this year.
