More than five months since they last saw her alive, an eastern Iowa family said their final goodbyes Saturday.

10-year-old Lyric Cook’s family held a memorial service.

Lyric and her cousin, Elizabeth Collins, disappeared after riding their bikes on July 13th near Meyers Lake in Evansdale.

Earlier this month, hunters found their bodies in a wooded area of Bremer County.

On Saturday, Lyric’s family held a celebration of life at the Heartland Vineyard Church in Cedar Falls.

Unlike the Collins family, the Cook’s asked media to not attend the memorial, though the public was invited to attend.

Investigators still have not released how the girls died or officially classified this case as a homicide.
