Friday’s women’s basketball game ended in victory for Iowa in San Diego. The match-up was the first round of the Maggie Dixon Surf N Slam Classic.

On the way to victory, Samantha Logic set the Iowa school record for assists in a single game with 14 against Texas.  She tied the previous school record of 12 earlier this season against Middle Tennessee.        

Three other Iowa players contributed, all notching 20-plus points. Morgan Johnson shot 20, Jaime Printy added 21 and Melissa Dixon recorded a career-high of 23.

Friday’s win was Iowa’s third victory over a ranked opponent. The previous being against No. 12 West Virginia, No. 22 Iowa State and now No. 20 Texas.

The match ended 86-63.
