As talk of changing gun control measures sweeps the nation, gun sales have skyrocketed.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Department received more than 400 gun permit purchase applications last month, which is the most they’ve seen in one month in the last three years.
They also received around 700 applications for permits to carry concealed weapons.

At the same time new nationwide poll shows a majority of people are in favor stricter gun control laws. A Rasmussen report poll found 51 percent of respondents were in favor of more gun control, while 42 percent were opposed to tougher laws. Rasmussen says 51 percent is the highest number of in favor responses they’ve seen in the 6 years they have been tracking people opinions on gun control.
