Jared Barnett led Iowa State to their biggest win in school history, now he plans to finish his career elsewhere.

The sophomore from Garland, TX appeared in 16 games for the Cyclones, throwing for 1,800 yards and 12 touchdowns before dropping to 3rd string on the quarterback depth chart.

Barnett will go down in Cyclone history for his performance against 2nd ranked Oklahoma State in 2011.

Consistency was his main enemy as he battled Steele Jantz for the starting position and was eventually passed by Sam Richardson for the #2 spot.

Head Coach Paul Rhoads said, “Jared has had some great games in a Cyclone uniform and we will miss his character in the locker room and on the field.  We respect his decision.”

Linebacker C.J. Morgan will also transfer because of personal family reasons.
