Bubu Palo has been reinstated to the Cyclone basketball team.

The Story County Attorney’s office dismissed sexual assault charges against Palo and his friend Spencer Cruise Monday.

Both men were arrested and charged with sexual assault stemming from a May incident where the men drove her home, they both pleaded not guilty.

Palo’s Attorney says the charges were dropped because a fabric forensics expert proved a blouse was washed before it was torn, contradicting sworn witness testimony.

Hoiberg suspended Palo in September. He was listed on the Iowa State roster, but he has not played this season.

The 6 foot 1 inch Junior averaged four points as a back-up point guard last season. He helped lead Ames High School to a state title in 2009, and walked on at ISU. He worked his way to a scholarship.

Palo says, it’s been a tough time in his life. “I’m very excited. It killed me when I had to be like every other fan watching the games… I just wanted to be out there with my team, but they have done great. I just really hope to get out there and do whatever I can. It really has taught me that anything can be taken away from you so it’s definitely made me appreciate basketball more.”
