Police have arrested an Iowa Falls man and charged him with first degree murder in connection with the death of his two-month-old daughter.

Twenty-seven-year-old Trevor Smith is also charged with child endangerment.

Officials say Aubriana Jo Christian suffered a brain bleed on September 26th. Smith said he was feeding the child a bottle when she went stiff and had trouble breathing.

Doctors determined the brain bleed was not caused by an accident.

Smith later admitted to shaking the baby on two separate occasions because she wouldn’t stop crying.

Smith is being held on $600,000 bond in the Black Hawk County Jail.

A preliminary hearing has been set for January 25th.
