OFFER REVOKED: Iowa Takes Away Young’s Scholarship

The University of Iowa football program has decided against taking a chance on a recruit getting into more trouble.

Rivals Recruiting reported Tuesday that Iowa has pulled their scholarship offer from Trevon Young.

The Lincoln senior from Des Moines was arrested for burglary in July, and then trespassing in December.

The 6 foot 4 inch, 220 pound defensive end and receiver texted Hawkeyereport.com, “I got into some trouble, so they took my scholarship away.”

Young says he now looking at junior colleges.

Lincoln also suspended Young from the basketball team in December. He was the Rails leading scorer and rebounder.
