Starting Tuesday, Iowa drivers can get a license that meets new federal standards.

It looks like your current driver’s license, but with a star logo in the upper right-hand corner.

The star indicates your identity has been verified and your ID can be trusted by federal authorities — including the TSA and border agents.

One day it could be used to allow you to board a plane, enter a federal building or more.

You can get the ID at the same place at you get a regular driver’s license. You are not required to get a Real ID.

To qualify to get one, you must provide documents verifying that you are a U.S. citizen and verifying your current address.
