President Barack Obama will feature eight Americans as citizen co-chairs during his inauguration on Monday and two of the honorees are Iowans.

It’s a new role and includes those who’ve inspired him during his first term.

Among the honorees is Petty Officer Second Class Taylor Morris of Cedar Falls. Morris lost portions of all four limbs during an IED explosion while serving in Afghanistan. He was awarded a Purple Heart by President Obama in July.

Iowan Rob Hach of Alta is along included as a citizen co-chair.

He started a small renewable energy business 10 years ago. The company assesses land to determine whether it is feasible for a wind farm.

Like Obama, Hach supports the extension of a wind energy production tax credit.
