The Waukee school district is trying to revamp its image, literally. Officials are going back to the drawing board to create a new mascot.

A committee spent nearly a year researching and working on a new logo idea- including a "warrior" mascot - to present to the school board.

But after so many public comments and complaints, the district is completely scraping the design and starting over.

According to the district's website, they need a mascot in order to help "define their brand".

The Waukee School District says they plan to work with the same company that helped them design this mascot. School officials will meet next week to determine the next steps to take in the process.
