Rep. Braley (D) already has his name on the ballot

Breakfast is no longer an option at some army bases in Afghanistan.

As of now, 17 bases have suspended serving breakfast to the troops stationed there.

Rep. Bruce Braley is trying to turn this policy around, after families of Iowa soldiers stationed in Afghanistan brought the issue to his attention.

Thursday, Braley wrote Army Secretary John McHugh stating, “I am troubled that the Army would deny any deployed troops three meals per day, regardless of force size.”

The Army plans to expand the no breakfast policy to more bases in Afghanistan on Feb. 1.
