Marshalltown police say they were called about an odor of marijuana at apartment #12 at 1702 S. 7th Avenue. They were able to obtain a search warrant for the apartment and found drugs and drug paraphernalia.

A one-year-old child and a three-year-old child were present when the apartment was searched and they were removed from the home for their safety and welfare.

The two adults in the apartment, Ana Martinez and Luis Mendez, were charged with child endangerment, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance.
