The money from speed and red light cameras keeps on rolling in for the City of Des Moines.

The numbers from the month of December show net revenue of $192,365 coming from about 4,200 violations. That is more than double the amount of revenue made in November, which was just over $95,000.

The majority of tickets come from the fixed speed camera on Interstate 235, that camera alone issued 3,200 tickets in December.

Over the year the cameras pulled in more than $2.7 million in fines. After paying the company who maintains the cameras, the city actually made $1.6 million.
