ROBBERY ARREST: Footprints Lead To Suspect

A man police say robbed a Des Moines pizza place at gunpoint Monday night has been arrested.

The Dominos at 3105 Douglas Avenue was robbed around 9:45 p.m. Police say an employee was in the alley behind the store emptying the trash when a man approached her with a gun. The man then directed the employee back in the building, where he was given the money from the cash register before he took off running.

Des Moines police say they followed footprints in the snow to 3715 37th Street where they observed a man fitting the suspect’s description get into a cab. Police stopped the cab before it left and arrested 26-year-old Rodney Martin Dunn.

Police say Dunn had a gun on him at the time of his arrest.

Dunn is charged with first degree robbery. He is being held in the Polk County Jail on a bond of $25,000.
