Beginning this Sunday, retailers in Iowa can begin charging shoppers a one-to-four percent surcharge to every purchase made with a credit card.

Thanks to a $7 billion settlement, retailers can now charge check out fees.

Sellers will only be allowed to add the surchage for the actual cost of processing credit card transactions.

Debit cards and pre-paid cards will not be charged.

These surcharges are illegal in 10 states, but are allowed in Iowa.
