Iowa Department of Management director Dave Roederer passed out Wednesday morning while at the Statehouse.

It happened a little before 11:00 a.m. Tim Albrecht, spokesman for Gov. Terry Branstad, says Roederer felt faint, laid down, and then passed out. Roederer was taken to a local hospital where Albrecht says he is “alert and feels good.”

Albrecht says Roederer was able to get himself on the gurney and was even joking with staff as he was being taken out of the Statehouse.
