A state audit reveals two Adair County employee didn’t deposit over $19,000 in checks.

Road superintendent Duane Jameson and shop clerk Cindy Butcher are on unpaid leave. The audit show checks issued to the pair went undeposited for a decade.

Most of the undeposited money came from a local salvage vendor for the sale of scrap metal from the engineer’s office.

The findings have been handed over to the Adair County Sheriff’s Office and the DCI.
