Police made an arrest in the shooting of a Council Bluffs mother and her one-year-old son

It happened outside of Indian Hills Village Apartments in Council Bluffs around 6 a.m. this morning.

Police say 22-year-old Heather Wilson was loading her 19-month-old son into a car when a gunman fired at least 11 shots.  Both Wilson and her son were hit.  Both are expected to recover.

Wilson was able to give police a description of the shooter, and witnesses say the suspect fled in a white sedan.

KETV in Omaha reports Wilson knew the shooter.   This led detectives to search two homes in Harlan and arrest 30-year-old Ronald Lee Farr Jr. He is charged with attempted murder, willful injury causing serious injuries and going armed with intent.
