Iowans who like to enjoy a cigarette at the casino are in luck.

An Iowa House subcommittee struck down legislation on Tuesday that would have required casinos to go smoke-free.

The legislation would change the 2008 smoke free air act.

One of the bill’s backers Democrat Janet Peterson says she will try to bring the bill back up in this session, but she doesn’t think it will garner the votes to make it through this year.
