The contract of Centerville’s interim city administrator has been terminated after a previous conviction for enticing a minor was brought to light.

Centerville’s mayor Jim Senior says 37-year-old Kevin Stocker of Elkhart was hired by the city council earlier this month.  According to the Iowa Sex Offender Registry, Stocker was convicted of enticing a minor in 2006 in Black Hawk County.

Senior says Stocker asked the city council to have the contract terminated Tuesday, and council members accepted the termination.

Stocker only served as interim city administrator for about a week.
