The Iowa Legislature decided not to meet Thursday because of the winter storm.

Lawmakers deserted the Statehouse Thursday morning.

The Senate gaveled in at 9:01 a.m. then adjourned a minute later. The House gaveled in for nine minutes.

Nearly all the committee meetings were cancelled as well.

Both the House and Senate aren’t scheduled to return to the Statehouse until Monday.
