An eastern Iowa man is building a special semi-tractor to raise money for the fight against cancer.

Eldon Jaeger of Worthington is putting together an all purple semi-tractor named Long Haul Survivor.

The truck will go on sale at the third-annual Midwest Pride in Your Ride Truck and Tractor Show in Earlyville in May.

This is an important cause for the mechanic and his family. “We had a daughter that passed away from cancer, and she actually lived 14-and-a-half years with it,” Jaeger said at his Worthington shop Thursday. “If somebody before her wouldn’t have done something for cancer, she probably wouldn’t have lived that long.”

All the proceeds from the raffle will go to the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.
