The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says no one was injured when a pickup truck broke through the ice on Clear Lake early Tuesday morning.

The DNR says a 1994 Chevy pickup operated by 38-year-old Matthew Curry of Mason City broke through the ice about 40 feet from the boat ramp at the downtown seawall a little after 2:00 a.m.

Curry and a female passenger were able to escape the truck without injury. The front end of the truck became submerged with the back end sticking up out of the ice.
