The Cyclones forgot to show up in Norman on Saturday.  I expected a letdown from the Kansas loss, but ISU just flat out wasn’t in it against Oklahoma.  I still don’t know what to make of this team, or how far they can go.  I do think they will still make the NCAA tournament, and watch, the Clones will upset #14 Oklahoma State Wednesday night at Hilton, book it.

The Hawkeyes battled the Hoosiers better than I thought.  Granted, the first half was awful for BOTH teams.  But to only lose by 13, on the road to the #1 team, without your starting PG, thats not too bad.  Anytime you have the same number of points as turnovers in a half, that’s not good.  Iowa had 14 in the first.  The bad news is Iowa is still on the outside of the bubble looking in, and only 2 games left.  I think the Hawks likely have to win out, plus get to the title game of the Big 10 tournament.  I’d love to see it, but I just don’t see it happening.

Doug McDermott dropped 41 points on Wichita State Saturday.  I think McDermott SHOULD win national player of the year, but I’m not sure he will.

Grand View wrestling, back to back national champs.  This is just the 5th year for the program and they’re already working on a dynasty.  Heavyweight Eric Thompson had a walk-off pin for the Vikings to win the national title.  Grand View was tied with Southern Oregon heading in to the final match, Thompson wins, Vikings are national champs.  If Thompson loses the title is shared.  No sharing in wrestling.  Thompson, the walk-off pin for the crown.  Oh by the way, Grand View only graduates 1 Senior.  3 peat next year, book it.

Hats off to the Southeast Polk girls basketball team.  State champs.  The Rams beat Dowling 43-34 to win the 2nd basketball state title in school history, the other came back in 1977.  SEP is on a roll, 3 state championships in 2 weeks.  Remember, they did the ‘double’ in wrestling.

The Harlem Shake is officially everywhere, with no end in sight.  Personally I think the videos are funny.  Overplayed?  yes.  A little redundant, sure.  But they are pretty funny.  Here at channel 13 we are trying to put an end to the Harlem Shake.  Check it out.

Baby watch continues.  3 days past due, nothing.  Come on out!  We’re ready!
