Monday was Rony’s last day on the job.

The 10-year-old German Shepard has worked for the police department since February of 2004.

During his career Rony was deployed 577 times for narcotic detection recovering more than 6,000 grams of marijuana, 2,300 grams of meth, 460 grams of cocaine and more than $175,000 in cash.

Rony was honored at Monday’s city council meeting. He was the department’s second K-9 officer.
