Jurors are continuing their deliberations in the murder trial of Seth Techel, but a verdict may be near.

Techel is charged with first degree murder and non consensual termination of a pregnancy in the death of his pregnant wife, Lisa Techel. She was shot to death in the couple’s home in rural Agency last May.

Jury deliberations began Monday afternoon and went late Wednesday night, a sign the jury could be close to a decision.

Prosecutors say Techel killed his wife in order to continue an affair with a co-worker and so he wouldn’t have to pay child support in a divorce.

Techel’s defense claims an intruder committed the murder.

If convicted, Techel faces a mandatory sentence of life in prison.
