The Des Moines Social Club is getting some state help to renovate its new location.

Wednesday the Vision Iowa Board awarded the social club more than $400,000. The money will help with the $3.3-million expense of renovating the former downtown fire station.

Once complete, the facility will include a theater, classrooms and an art gallery.
