A Des Moines Police officer who was hit by an SUV over the weekend may have been more seriously injured than doctors originally thought.  Officer Candice Lassiter, 33, was hit by the vehicle when the driver lost control on ice covered 30th Street Sunday night.  Family friend Curtis Marks says Lassiter was returned to ICU last night.

"It was more severe than what we thought it would be.  She went back into intensive care last night with seizures" Marks says,  "She's making some progress. She's starting to remember more than she did the day before.  She's still unclear about the date and some of the details and everything like that."

The driver of the SUV, Corey James Wyllie, 40, of Van Meter, was cited for failure to maintain control.
