A fire damaged a Johnson County building used to store snow plows and other county vehicles.

The county lost about half of its fleet of snow plows Monday evening. Three trucks are destroyed and five others damaged.

Investigators say it appears the fire started inside a county garage, but they haven’t found a cause.

Some county records stored in an attic were also destroyed.

Leaders say the surviving plows will be able to handle any surprise spring storms.
