Most people haven’t even noticed the impact of automatic federal budget cuts called sequestration.

But a group of Waverly kids did.

The students from St. Paul’s Lutheran School went on a special tour of Terrace Hill Thursday morning, guided by Gov. Terry Branstad.

The governor invited the children after the White House canceled the students’ tour.

Tours in D.C. are on hold due to the funding cuts.

The kids even made a special Facebook campaign in hopes that the White House would reverse its decision, but it didn’t.

The students also got to tour the Statehouse Thursday and look inside the governor’s formal office.
