Des Moines police are trying to determine if three people arrested with two loaded guns are responsible for a series of shootings in the Drake neighborhood.

Over the past week, shots have been fired six times.

After the latest round Thursday night, police stopped a car driven by 22-year old Mychelle Winfrey and found two guns and some marijuana in the trunk. Winfrey told police her boyfriend, a passenger in the car, borrowed it earlier and that she didn’t know anything about the guns. That passenger, 18-year old Shaquille Wade, lives just a few doors away from a house that was peppered with gunfire this week.

Wade’s aunt tells us, he wasn’t responsible for that shooting. "He didn't do that one.  (It was done by) Somebody who's after him."

The three face drug and weapons charges, and more charges could be filed if police tie the them to any of the shootings.
