Next week, the Johnston school district will begin the process of building a new high school.

On Tuesday morning, the school district and architects will kick off the 2013 bond referendum campaign.

Representatives will be on hand to answer questions about the new plan, one that has been scaled back from what voters turned down last year.

The meeting begins at 9 a.m. at the district administration office on Merle Hay Road.

That same day, residents in the Saydel school district will head to the polls to vote on a nearly 8-million dollar bond referendum.

If approved, the district would use the money to renovate the middle and high school buildings and make technology upgrades.

Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
