The father of one of the young girl who was abducted and killed last summer is facing new drug charges.

Thirty-six-year-old Dan Morrissey is charged with trying to make methamphetamine, possessing simulated meth and failing to comply with conditions of his pre-trial release according to the Des Moines Register.

Morrissey tested positive in February for meth and marijuana while he was awaiting trial.  He also missed appointments with his pretrial officer.

Morrissey pleaded guilty to seven drug related charges in early March.

The judge told Morrissey he could face 235 years behind bars for the drug charges, but he could also receive an enhanced sentence on the new charges.

Morrissey`s daughter, Lyric Cook, disappeared with her cousin while riding her bike in Evansdale last July. Her body was found in December.
